Do you have a child age 13+ (grades 7-12) interested in writing and submitting an original work to the Scholastic Writing Awards? The deadline for the American Voices & Visions Award is December 2 at 11:59pm, and participants have a chance to win $500 and get published by Scholastic!
Join a group of 4-8 scholars and receive professional tutoring, feedback, and revisions from an ELA educator with 10 years of experience in writing tutoring! We will meet on Mondays from 6-7:30pm ET over the course of 5 weeks (11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 11/24, 12/1) in order to select a category, brainstorm and create an outline, write a rough draft, edit and revise our work, and upload to the Scholastic portal! Your child’s entry fee to the competition is covered by their participation in this writing group.

In week 2, students will write an outline and receive feedback. (Students who did not participate in week 1 can join, but they must come prepared with their category and a brainstormed topic.)
