Join me on Wednesday, November 18th at 7pm EST to discuss “Friday Black”, a short story from Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah’s debut collection. As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, this story is perfect for reflecting on the damaging effects of consumerism on the psyche. The story follows one salesman on Black Friday, when customers turn into ravenous monsters — desperate to buy the items that will solve their human problems.
Discussion will take place at Sharky’s Bar and Grill (2819 Eastern Ave, Baltimore, MD 21224). All participants receive a discussion guide 2 days in advance. Discussion is capped at 10 people.
