SUMMARY:Talking About Technology: Story-Driven Dialogue for ages 14-17
DESCRIPTION:How does technology change our human experience? In the digital
age\, how do we define our humanity and our values? \n\nIn this four-day
literature course\, students explore how technology shapes human connecti
on\, creativity\, and emotion through three classic short stories: “The
Veldt” by Ray Bradbury\, “The 9 Billion Names of God" by Arthur Clarke
\, and “EPICAC” by Kurt Vonnegut. Each day’s 1‑hour session invit
es students to read closely\, discuss deeply\, and write thoughtfully usin
g two core tools: a 6‑question reading framework (analyzing the narrator
 \, characterization\, setting\, plot\, message\, and theme) and 4 writing
 moves (summary\, claim\, evidence\, analysis).\n\nBy the end of the week\,
students will:\n\n Analyze how authors imagine technology’s impact on
family\, religion\, and love\n Strengthen their ability to support claims
with textual evidence\n Participate in a Socratic seminar exploring the
connections between texts and ideas\n Draft and refine a short essay with
  guided feedback\n
